Nomination Papers Available for May 3rd Town Election
Thinking about running for local office? You can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall or contact the office at townclerk@westfordma.org or 978-692-5515 to request the papers be emailed to you.
In order to appear on the May 3, 2022 town election ballot, nomination papers must be signed by at least 50 registered Westford voters and returned to the Clerk’s office by Tuesday, March 15 at 5:00 pm.
On Saturday, Feb. 26 (rain date Sunday, Feb. 27), the League is planning to once again sponsor a drive-through Signature Gathering Event to help candidates safely get their required nomination signatures Watch future eBulletins for more details.
Open positions this year are two seats each on the Select Board, School Committee, Board of Health, and J.V. Fletcher Library Board of Trustees and one seat each on the Housing Authority and Planning Board. A list of open positions and who’s taken out papers is updated regularly here.

It includes a detailed description of the entire process, from pulling papers to campaign finance to publicizing your campaign. You can also watch our “Getting Involved in Town Government” program and hear personal stories from town residents who chose to run for local office. We will also once again be hosting an event for candidates to gather signatures for their nomination papers.
