The League of Women Voters of Westford and the Westford Women\u2019s Club are joining forces to present Honoring Massachusetts Women Past And Present<\/strong>, an evening presentation with Fredie Kay, president and founder of Suffrage100MA. This special event will take place Wednesday, November 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Westford History Museum, 2 Boston Road. The presentation is free and open to the public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2010, Suffrage100MA has been dedicated to commemorating the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, which prohibits governments from denying women the right to vote. It took a 72-year struggle, by thousands of suffragists, to achieve adoption of the 19th Amendment in August of 1920. The mission of Suffrage100MA has been to raise awareness and honor the remarkable sacrifices and achievements of the suffragists, by providing resources, creating educational films, and organizing events held in Boston on Women\u2019s Equality Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fredie will present an overview of Suffrage100MA and highlight the organization\u2019s vision for a new virtual Massachusetts Women\u2019s History Museum and flagship Women\u2019s Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is an attorney and women\u2019s rights and political advocate. Fredie is the president of the Women\u2019s Suffrage Celebration Coalition of Massachusetts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking is available on Lincoln Street and in the lot adjacent to the Westford Police Station in town center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
