Westford LWV Candidates’ Night Set For April 25

Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m.
Avis Hooper Room at the Roudenbush Community Center,
65 Main Street, Westford.

Candidates’ Night, the League’s signature event, is a must-see to get to know the candidates for local office better. All candidates on the May 7th Town election ballot have been invited. Elections are being held for Selectmen, Board of Health, Housing Authority, Library Trustees, Planning Board and School Committee.

The League welcomes questions from the public. Questions can be submitted online prior to the event at lwv.westford.org and at the event itself. Due to time constraints, not all submitted questions may be asked and the League may combine or edit questions.

Heather McNeil of the League of Women Voters of Andover-North Andover will be the moderator for the evening.

Candidates’ Night will be simulcast on WestfordCAT government channel Comcast 9/Verizon 34 and will be rebroadcast on cable as well as available on demand at westfordcat.org.

To give voters the opportunity to learn even more about the candidates, the League is producing its annual Voters’ Guide featuring background information on the candidates and their responses to two League-posed questions. It will be published before the election in the Westford Eagle and available on the League’s website, lwv.westford.org.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization of women and men that encourages informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of major public policy issues. The League does not support or oppose any candidate or political party.
