LWV Candidates Forum 3rd Congressional District, August 27

Congresswoman Niki Tsongas is not seeking reelection, making this one of only 55 vacated house seats in the country. There are ten Democratic and one Republican candidate on the primary ballot.

Monday, August 27, 7-8:30 p.m., Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center

200 Richardson Road, Chelmsford, MA.

The League of Women Voters of Chelmsford, with the help of the League of Women Voters of Westford and other town leagues in Middlesex County, will hold a Candidates Forum for the 3rd Congressional District. The League of Women Voters has invited all candidates whose names will appear on the September 4 ballots to participate.

The forum will be held in the Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center, 200 Richardson Rd, Chelmsford, on the evening of Monday, August 27, 2018, from 7-8:30 p.m. We plan to record the program for re-airing on Chelmsford TV and other local public access TV stations.

The 3rd Congressional District Representative represents residents of Middlesex, Worcester and Essex Counties in the U. S. Congress.

A similar forum held on July 23 in Concord, MA. had an overflow crowd at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center. More than 100 people had to be turned away.

The League of Women Voters is eager to help voters learn more about the candidates running in the September 4th Primary Election and provide a nonpartisan forum for all candidates to be heard. The event is part of our mission to encourage the active and informed participation of all citizens in government and the electoral process. The forum is free and open to the public.
